1. What does GRA do?
The Georgia Research Alliance creates opportunities to grow Georgia’s economy through university-based research. We help recruit enterprising scholars to Georgia … fuel the launch of companies that create high-value jobs … strengthen centers of research so that they break new ground on discovery … and broker working partnerships between businesses and industries.
In “creating opportunities,” GRA acts as a kind of “deal-maker” for Georgia’s research universities. We strategically invest funds that will be further leveraged to generate the greatest possible return. We introduce key stakeholders from academia and industry in order to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that advance discovery. And we exemplify Georgia’s commitment to becoming a leading state for science- and technology- based economic development.
