Axion Biosystems

Axion BioSystems specializes in neural interfacing technologies that can be used in scientific research, clinical trials and drug discovery. Axion has developed the next-generation, multi-electrode array (MEA) technology to provide unprecedented access to cellular information at a reasonable cost. The company offers 64- and 768-channel MEA systems that incorporate proprietary technology for simultaneous stimulation and recording of neural tissue. Current development is focused on pharmaceutical drug screening. 

Axion BioSystems resides in the heart of Georgia Tech’s biomedical engineering complex in Atlanta, giving the company access to state-of-the art facilities including the NanoTechnology Research Center (MiRC) and the Laboratory for Neuroengineering (Neurolab).
