Elevar Corporation is developing a naturally occurring biological catalyst, AgriSaver, that slows the ripening process and extends the storage life of various agricultural products. AgriSaver helps extend the taste profile associated with peak ripeness of fruit and has been shown to reduce flower senescence. The technology, developed in the laboratories of Dr. George Pierce at Georgia State University, has potential applications with other plant development processes, including vegetable ripening, leaf abscission and seed germination.
