Research Vision

My laboratory focuses on the development of highly integrated platforms (genomics, proteomics and drug screening) for the studies of systems biology and complex diseases using both animal models and human populations. Our goal is to understand the mechanism of diseases and to develop novel prediction and treatment strategies for a variety of diseases including type1 diabetes and cancer.

In the Lab
  1. Microarray technologies for global gene expression
  2. Mass spectrometry analyses for proteins
  3. High throughput screening of chemical compound library
  4. Congenic and knockout animal models for autoimmune diseases and cancer
  5. Prediction and prevention of type 1 diabetes (TEDDY AND PANDA)
  6. Biomarkers and therapy for cancer (BAT Cancer)
Why Georgia?
  1. Opportunity to build a first class center for personalized medicine at MCG.
  2. Opportunities to develop integrated research initiatives with multiple research institutions in Georgia.
